FASHION. Girls Gone Wild

This is my version of a girls-gone-wild night.

I paired my leather accented corset with a leopard print pop skirt.

Normally I pair pop skirts with a tight top or a loose top with a tight skirt. I think both pairs are sweet. If you pair loose top and pop bottom, it looks lousy and very unflattering. A big no, no for me.

Tight top and tight bottom is a different story, that will depend on your figure. If you're comfortable wearing it then do so, if not, avoid looking like a piece of meat squeezed inside a tube. Make sure as well that "tight" is not too tight that you're holding your breath to keep your tummy tucked or too tight that your beer bellies are popping out.

Being a woman, we love to wear something that flatters our figure, no matter what size we are. Who doesn't? This outfit can be worn by bigger women or small sized like me. It will still look sweet yet fierce.

The look: H&M corset, Zara animal print pop skirt, Burberry platform, Calvin Klein chained bag, H&M silver earrings

The chained leather bag and fierce looking platforms completed the look. I could've added studded cuffs or choker but I think it's already too much. I love it simple yet edgy.

How do you like this look?

Long Sleeve Maxi Dresses

I was browsing my faaavorite site ASOS today for some day dresses (they have the best range ever :D check out this post I did a while back about them) and noticed a new and unlikely mini trend: long sleeve maxi dresses..
I do like this one but I'd buy a size up to make sure the fabric isn't too clingy, it only £30.00, I know!!:
Nicole Richie is pictured here wearing the same dress:
I love this, it's £32.00:

But this is my favorite by far, it's also £30.00 :D but unfortunately at the moment all the sizes above 8 (UK) are out or stock :( and I was so ready to order..
Check out ASOS's complete range of day dresses here!

Hijab Wedding Dress Sale

The best modest wedding dress shop on the net (in my humble opinion) is having a sale until the end of March and the prices are incredibly low! If you're getting married and want a modern style wedding dress that is also hijab appropriate I would highly recommend you visit this site and insha'Allah you'll find the perfect dress :D Here are some of my favorites:

I love this one, it has a Moroccan feel to it and isn't too over the top and what's more, it's yours for 612 euros, bargain! (was 765 euros):

This one comes with a cute and convenient jacket for those who don't want a long sleeved dress. It used to be 865 euros but is now just 692 :D

This next one is sooooo pretty! It's has some really elegant detailing and at 592 euros from 740, it's not a bad deal either!

This one is probably my favorite, I love all! It's 667 euros from 833:
There are lots more great Muslim wedding dresses to find at http://fashion-hijab-styles.blogspot.com/ for new low prices so go and check it out. Take a look at the gowns while you're at it - a few of them could be hijabified.

Modest & Sexy????? A Contradiction

Not too long ago on Facebook, one of my Facebook friends, and sister in Islam, posted a reply after being attacked about a post stating that she had bought a pair of skinny jeans. Many women attacked her saying that it is inappropriate for a Muslim woman to wear skinny jeans.

Now let's keep a few things in perspective. Number one, this woman wears hijab (for those of you who don't know hijab is the Islamic headscarf), and wears it properly, covering  herself they way she needs to be covered (Islamicaly). Number two, this woman is married, and I believe has at least two children.
Besides my hating judgemental people, my other pet peeve (other than rudeness and inconsideration), are people who are too extreme. On one hand a woman can be to loose and out there, have absolutely no restraint about how she conducts herself, dress wise or other wise, but on the other hand you have the woman who is modest, but so modest that she can't allow herself to be ultra sexy and feminine when appropriate. Both are wrong in my humble opinion.
I am of the belief that every woman should have a pair of skinny jeans, mini skirt, halter top, some daisy duke shorts and a little black dress ......TO WEAR AT HOME FOR HER HUSBAND. Think logically for a moment. Unfortunately, your husband is out all day looking at,working, and dealing with women, most of whom do not have a problem showing a little thigh, cleavage, or butt. Then he comes home to you and your dressed like a nun,  hair a mess...you get the picture. Ladies this is a man's worst nightmare, and even if he is a man of Allah (God in Arabic language) and understands why you choose to dress modestly (outside the home), he is still a man, and wants to be excited by the woman that he has to come home to until he dies. The prophet (PBUH) has said "All women have the ornaments that Allah blessed them with.  Use the beauty Allah - Azza wa Jal - has bestowed you with to win the heart of your husband." And we should do just that.
We should not be afraid to embrace our feminine sexuality. I know that this is sometimes difficult for women who are very religious or have been taught that being sexy is bad or dirty. Our sexuality is beautiful and a gift from Allah/God, it is nothing to be ashamed of  and should always be used appropriately and responsibly.
On a side note, us Modest Fashionistas, shouldn't use wearing hijab, or dressing modestly as an excuse or reason to stay out of shape (I am guilty of this, and am changing). We should strive everyday to eat right, exercise and be in the absolute best shape ever, for ourselves first, and also for our husbands and family.

The art of being a feminine woman, and using our feminine wiles  has become lost for the most part. Modesty IS important, but a woman shouldn't lose her sexy side just because she choose to dress modest in public. Remember balance is key in every aspect of life.
