Peter Pilotto London Fashion Week 2012
It's refreshing to find trends unique to each designer at LFW.
And while Peter Pilotto, and his design partner Christopher de Vos, have incorporated in the obligatory velvet cropping up on catwalks across the capitol, the duo have devised their own house signatures continuously.
Peter Pilotto has built its reputation on always churning out edgy digital prints, and for autumn it looked like the needle was working at fever pitch.
Indigo, chartreuse and violet blended together in separates, cut-out dresses and, strangely enough, puffer jackets. But this was no normal outerwear- the sleeves were crackled silver leather and waists were cinched with the same material.
That wasn't the designers' only stab at ski chic, they also introduced several multi-colour fur bibs and gilets striped with green, bright blue, black and ivory, often framing a vibrant fitted frock or slim trousers.
A series of blown-up rose petal print dresses added a romantic touch to the otherwise cool-coloured collection.
Paris Fashion Week 2012 Best Collections
Paris Fashion Week 2012 is all about glitz, glamour, and everything in between. This year, as they normally do every year, the fashion show was staged to commemorate a number of fashion contributors who have changed the life of the industry throughout the years. And what better way than to stage it in Paris, a country that is rich in culture, mobility, and everything of the best you can ever find.
Paris Fashion Week 2012 showcased a number of trends on the runway. They featured a number of collections for tops, bottoms, and other seasons to showcase what the designers have to offer this year. As widely noticed by both presenter and guests who attended this major event in the fashion industry, it seems that the fashion show featured top trends like feathers, sparkles, and bountiful Eastern influences.
Some top ten collections were also named during this event. First on the list is none other than brands like Givenchy, Commes des Garcons, and YSL that were to boot. The brands continued to live up to the expectations of everyone as they showcased their most daring and most beautiful pieces yet. But other than these famous brands, other top collections are also worth mentioning.
Alexande McQueen featured a mind-blowing design that is reminiscent of futuristic clothing. White feathers were the biggest come on of her collection that you will automaically feel that you are in another lifetime the minute you take a look at it. Celine was also one of the presenters in Paris Fashion Week 2012 and the brand showcased sporty and sleek designs that are to be loved by most women in general.
Balenciaga is of course another one of the best finds. They focused primarily on dressing up corporate women who need elegant stylish while at work. The pieces that were combined though were made to be unique and not just like any other ready to wear corporate suit you can find out there. After all, it’s Balenciage we’re talking about.
Valentino is also another brand that lived up to the expectations of the guests at the fashion week. They mostly showcased pretty dresses but with a twist. They made the dresses look ever more stylish by combining a number of trends and touches to it. Now, wouldn’t a leather dress be nice to wear?
Many other designers and collections were presented in Paris Fashion Week 2012. Everything can be regarded as the season’s best collection by far.
